Our Story

This love story all started on Brown St. at Morehouse College, back in 2012. It was the first week of school and Ally was campaigning for the freshman pageant. In the midst of her campaigning, she ran into Zach – the two of them made introductions, had a small conversation and Ally made him promise to support her in the show. Making whole on his promise, Zach attended the pageant in support of his new-found acquaintance. During the talent portion of the show, Ally performed an incredible dance routine that not only landed her a first-place spot in the pageant, but also secured her place in Zach’s heart. From there, Zach’s interest and pursuit of Ally began to take form. 

In the months that followed, Zach and Ally’s friendship began to blossom. After crossing Omega Psi Phi in the fall of 2013, Zach was a now a free man and had his sights set on Ally Calloway (which everyone who knew Zach closely was made aware of) and Ally had just crossed Alpha Kappa Alpha in the Spring of 2014. The timing couldn’t have been any better! As fate would have it, the two also secured internships in New York City which would ultimately become the genesis of their relationship.

During that summer, the two were inseparable. Each day after work, Ally and Zach would try new restaurants, go to the movies, or just stroll through the city and learn more about each other. Though they may not have realized it at the time, these two kids from the west coast were falling in love in the big apple. This summer would be the first time Ally and Zach first told each other “I love you” and from then on the two were attached at the hip. On November 18, 2014, they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. 

9 years’ worth of memories later, Ally and Zach have lived and worked in New York City together, traveled the world, gained their beautiful dog-daughter, Nala, and now live in Ally’s childhood neighborhood, Ladera Heights where they recently purchased their first home. In February of 2023, Zach asked Ally for her hand in marriage and in remembrance of her grandfather, proposed to her at her grandparent’s home on his favorite viewing deck.
